After Lora earned her BA in English from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, she attended graduate school at Spalding University in Louisville, KY and completed her MFA in 2012. Freelance editor writing coach, she has mentored writers in several genres, and offers services that range from line and content editing to a full ghostwrite. Her favorite activity is critique, preferring to help a writer to hone their mastery of craft elements. 

Lora's fiction has appeared in a number of journals, including The Battered Suitcase, Newfound Literary Journal, and 94Creations Literary Journal, among others. An excerpt from her short story collection placed in The Blotter Magazine Laine Cunningham Novel [and book-length manuscript] Competition in July, 2014, and a story from the same collection received an Honorable Mention in Glimmer Train's Award Series in the summer of 2017.
